Illustrator, Specialist Publications (Part-Time) - Advertising & Marketing Solutions

About the team:

South China Morning Post (SCMP) is looking for a skilled and creative part-time Illustrator to support the production of content for its Specialist Publications department, a lifestyle content division focused on culture, fashion, F&B, travel and more. 

Purpose of the position:
Create Infographics, charts, Illustrations and Visual explainers for the SCMP’s culture and lifestyle titles, including Post Magazine, Style by SCMP, 100 Top Tables and more.

In this role, you will: 

  • Create illustrations, infographics and other visual elements for print and digital.
  • Work with Editors, Photographers and Photo Editors to produce clear, visually stunning and on-brand graphics
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to understand the magazine’s vision, themes, and objectives for each title. 
  • Manage and organise a library of digital assets

Skills and Experience that will lead to success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic design, Illustration, or a related discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience working in Information design or Editorial Design
  • At least 3 years of experience creating Illustrations
  • Previous editorial experience 
  • Interest culture,research and visual storytelling
  • Knowledge of data visualization concepts and tools 
  • Capacity to work independently and in teams
  • Basic knowledge of UX-UI design is a plus
  • Open to feedback on work and ideas
 

Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
