SCMP announces the resignation of Managing Director

Hong Kong, 21, November 2007 — SCMP Group today announced that Nancy Valiente has resigned from her roles as Managing Director, South China Morning Post Publishers Ltd and Chief Financial Officer for SCMP Group. Her last day will be 29, February 2008.

"Ms. Valiente has expressed her desire to take a sabbatical to spend more time in traveling and volunteer activities after almost eight rewarding years with the Group," said Kuok Khoon Ean, Chairman of SCMP Group. "We respect her decision and wish to express our gratitude to her for the contribution she has made during her tenure at SCMP."

Since joining the Group in April 2000, Ms. Valiente has contributed greatly to the strong business performance of the Group. As Managing Director, she has led many business initiatives and played a key role in building a strong management team and developing strong relationships with clients and business partners. As Chief Financial Officer, she worked closely with the Board to restructure the Group to focus on its core business as well as to improve corporate governance and accountability.
