1903
First edition of the South China Morning Post
The South China Morning Post’s first edition hits the streets of Hong Kong on November 6, 1903. It’s published using modern Linotype hot metal typesetting machines from Britain and the US. The paper’s founders are Tse Tsan-tai, a writer, campaigner, artist and inventor, and Alfred Cunningham, a prominent British journalist. The paper’s first office is located on Hong Kong’s waterfront between Connaught Road and Des Voeux Road.
