Hong Kong, (February 13, 2026) – This February, Style by SCMP celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special issue and a star-studded party. The issue features many bright talents who have helped make Hong Kong and Asia a creative powerhouse over the past two decades.

To showcase how human creativity is supported by AI and new technologies, while reflecting on the importance of luxury publications in 2026 and beyond, the issue carries a specially-created comic titled “The Style Files” featuring Style’s editorial team as the main characters. The 16-page comic presents a fictional high-stakes rescue mission that coincides with the publication’s real-world anniversary celebration. In the story, the editorial team faces a digital threat as they work to protect the magazine’s 20-year archive, unfolding a race against time in Hong Kong.
In an experimental approach, the team utilised AI to enhance their storyboards and mood boards, transforming their roles into an exciting comic adventure. Throughout the process, the team guided the AI tool by providing visual references and refining prompts to ensure that the AI-generated imagery matched their specific creative vision.

Vincenzo La Torre, Chief Editor of Style by SCMP, said, “When Style launched in 2006, the luxury industry was a very different beast. The use of AI is an example of just that: something unexpected and fun that adds an element of surprise to the usual notion and format of a luxury magazine. The idea was to inject a dose of fun into an industry that can sometimes take itself too seriously.”
While AI and new technology assist the brainstorming and production process, it is the human perspective and a sharp point of view that create luxury media’s impact and influence.
“What makes luxury stand out in a world of endless consumption is the emotion we associate with the moments, objects and people that make this industry special. We still believe in the importance of curation and the role of gatekeepers like editors at a time when everyone is bombarded with information daily. We hope that our passion, commitment and integrity are palpable on every page of the magazine, while embracing an experimental mindset to inspire our readers,” added Vincenzo La Torre.
“The Style Files” comic is created by the Style team, using Google Nano Banana Pro:

- Producer: Kevin Peterson
- Art Director: Chow Kwok-wang
- Cast: Chow Kwok-wang, Sumnima Kandangwa, Sheena Khemaney, Vincenzo La Torre, Stephanie Miu, Gloria Tso
