SCMP APPOINTS QIN SHENG TO LEAD ITS PEOPLE DEPARTMENT

HONG KONG, 31 August 2020 – The South China Morning Post announced today the appointment of Qin Sheng as Senior Vice President, People Department, to lead its people-focused strategies and to build a vibrant and diverse work environment. Following SCMP’s rapid growth and transformation into a global digital media organisation, Sheng’s appointment sharpens the company’s focus on enhancing the employee experience and bringing innovation and analytics to people-first programmes. Sheng’s responsibilities include overseeing the People Department’s strategy and planning, driving learning and growth initiatives, as well as supervising employee engagement and organisational development.

With a track record of more than 15 years in luxury retail and consumer industries, Sheng brings a wealth of experience in leadership with several international organisations.

Sheng previously served on the leadership team at H&H Group as Group Senior Director of People & Culture. She oversaw major organisational changes and led the alignment of global HR practices. Prior to that, she was the HR Director at LVMH Fashion Group Asia Pacific, where she improved HR efficiencies with an analytic approach to talent management and budgeting across multiple brands and markets. She also introduced digital initiatives for employee experience and deployed diversity programmes at LVMH.

Qin Sheng’s appointment is effective from 31 August and she will be based at SCMP’s global headquarters in Hong Kong.
