“We believe that the business community can play a leadership role in setting examples of good corporate behavior, which runs across good corporate governance, leadership and philanthropy. To keep pace with the evolving business landscape, we have redesigned this business awards programme to reflect the dynamic growth. This is the first year that we have expanded the SCMP Business Awards to the Greater Bay Area, and subsequently to Asia.” Eugene Tang, Managing Editor, Projects, South China Morning Post.

The event featured a captivating conversation with Dr Allan Zeman, Chairman of the Lan Kwai Fong Group and the only three-time winner of the business awards. Moderated by SCMP’s CEO Catherine So, Dr Zeman shared valuable insights into his business leadership and lessons learnt, where he strongly encouraged business owners to be prepared and maintain an open mind when navigating the innovations and changes in today’s rapidly evolving and dynamic landscape.

This year’s awards received 43 nominations across six categories. All nomination papers, including financial statements and supporting documents, were first normalised by knowledge partner Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), led by CIMA Council member William Chen; and compiled into mutually comparable data sets, graded and submitted to the panel of 10 judges for their votes to the lists of finalists and winners.
