Manager/ Assistant Manager, Talent Engagement - People

Purpose of the position:
As a leading News organization, SCMP needs to emphasize its Employer Value Proposition, in line with Company mission and values. The organization would attract talents globally from various horizons. The Manager, Talent engagement will have a key role to play in formulating right messages on right channels to engage with right candidates.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop SCMP Employer Value Propositions with relevant stakeholders and deploy EVP through different channels (LinkedIn, Corporate Career page, job boards, etc.), take in charge of recruitment marketing, social media strategy and branding materials production.
  • Implement talent sourcing strategies to attract the highest quality talent and establish a robust candidate pipeline, especially for critical functions
  • Work with target universities to promote our Graduate Trainee Programme and select young talents passionate about journalism and technology 
  • Develop recruitment tools, optimize recruitment process to enhance hiring efficiency and quality 
  • Consolidate recruitment activity and performance data; able to identify trends / opportunities for process improvement and strategy realignment
  • Champion of SCMP Values, create touch points and campaigns to enhance values prominence
  • Assist in implementing People Department projects and ad-hoc assignments as required.

Skills and Experience that will lead to success:

  • Undergraduate degree, major in Communications / Marketing / Human Resources 
  • 5-8 years of in-house experience, ideally in a Talent Acquisition team, in charge of employer branding and/or staff engagement
  • Ability to build partnerships and establish rapport and credibility at all levels
  • Proven ability to work within fast-paced and dynamic work environments
  • Creative, solution-driven, great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English including written, verbal presentation

Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
