Zuraidah Ibrahim

Zuraidah supervises the South China Morning Post’s Hong Kong, Asia and international coverage as well as its photo, graphics and Young Post desks. She also oversees This Week in Asia, an award-winning Sunday current affairs magazine. Zuraidah was previously the Deputy Editor of Singapore’s largest English-language daily, The Straits Times. Among the books Zuraidah has published are Lee Kuan Yew: Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going (Straits Times Press, 2011), a monograph on the Opposition in the Singapore Chronicles series (Institute of Policy Studies, 2017) and a co-edited compendium of reports on Hong Kong’s 2019 protests, Rebel City: Hong Kong’s Year of Water and Fire (SCMP Publishers, 2020). Her latest book project is Post Portraits – Hong Kong’s 25 years of change through the lens of the South China Morning Post (SCMP Publishers, 2023).

Chow Chung-yan

Chow Chung-yan began his journalistic career at the South China Morning Post and rose to become Executive Editor in 2015. As editorial’s second-in-command, he is in charge of the China and US bureaus as well as the political economy, culture, print and digital teams. He has been running the SCMP’s day-to-day news operations since 2011. He led the newsroom’s organisational restructuring, streamlined its production workflows and set up dedicated teams for both the print and digital products to facilitate the newspaper’s digital transformation. He also assembled an award-winning infographics desk and spearheaded the redesign of the newspaper. To strengthen the paper’s international coverage, he established the SCMP’s US operations in 2017 with bureaus in New York and Washington, and subsequently set up offices in Brussels and Nairobi. He has been directing the SCMP’s China coverage since 2007 to build the news outlet into one of the most important sources of information on China for global readers. He initiated the hugely successful Open Questions series for the world’s thought leaders to share their insights on critical global issues. In 2024, he designed and supervised the creation of SCMP Plus, a premium content product that won a top prize at WAN-IFRA’s Digital Media Awards Worldwide 2025.

Ben Abbotts

Ben Abbotts is Head of Product & Technology at the South China Morning Post, responsible for all consumer-facing digital product strategy and platforms as well as overseeing SCMP’s internal systems and technology. Ben has 25 years of digital product experience and joined the Post in 2007. At SCMP, he has overseen countless iterations of SCMP.com and SCMP’s native apps as-well-as digital products in the SCMP ecosystem including Young Post, Posties, Style, PostMag and SCMP Plus which launched in 2024. Prior to joining SCMP, Ben managed digital platforms on behalf of EURO RSCG including Microsoft, Budweiser and Adidas. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Bath University.

Sylvia Wang

Sylvia Wang is the Chief Financial Officer of the South China Morning Post, overseeing accounting and financial management, legal and facilities management and serving as a director for certain SCMP subsidiaries. With over 25 years of experience in accounting and financial management, Sylvia joined SCMP in 2016 after working as Senior Finance Director at Alibaba Group, the owner of SCMP, and previously as an audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, an international audit firm. Sylvia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Professional Accountancy, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, ACCA and the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute.

Sophia Yu

Sophia Yu is the Managing Director & Publisher of SCMP Hearst, where she oversees brand development, business strategy and editorial direction for five leading luxury and lifestyle media brands in Hong Kong: Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, Esquire and ELLE Men. Under her leadership, the five media brands have successfully transformed from traditional print media into prominent digital players, reaching over four million digital audiences monthly and amassing a social following of more than 3.5 million users. Since joining the South China Morning Post Group in 2011, Sophia has held various senior positions in both news and magazine publishing. She began her career in the advertising industry and later excelled in the media sector, taking on senior regional roles across China and Asia Pacific.

Ang Jin

Ang Jin is the Chief Growth Officer at the South China Morning Post, where she leads the company’s recurring businesses and lays the foundation for sustainable growth. With over 20 years of diverse experience spanning consulting, investment banking and the TMT (technology, media, and telecommunications) sectors, Ang brings deep expertise in strategic planning, fundraising and M&A advisory, financial investment and post-merger integration. Since joining SCMP, Ang has demonstrated strong leadership, progressing through key roles including Head of Strategy, Chief of Staff and Group Senior Vice President before assuming her current position. Throughout her tenure, she has successfully led teams and overseen critical business functions including global partnerships, SCMP Plus, Enterprise+, SCMP Learn, the C-suite community and more. Her accomplishments have been widely recognised, including her inclusion in Campaign Asia’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list in 2022, highlighting her proven track record in driving strategic growth and financial excellence. Ang holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she double-majored in finance and entrepreneurial management and served as co-president of the Asia Club.

Kevin Huang

Kevin Huang is the Chief Operating Officer of the South China Morning Post and is responsible for Advertising & Marketing Solutions, Events and Corporate Communications at the Post. Kevin’s career spans more than 25 years across Asia Pacific, during which he has consistently spearheaded digital, mobile and advertising businesses through high growth and profitability. Prior to joining SCMP, Kevin was the Managing Director of Carousell. Before that, he headed Birdie Mobile, Hong Kong’s first digital-only operator. Kevin was also the Co-founder and CEO of Pixels, and grew the company to become one of the leading home-grown adtech firms in the region. Kevin is a founding member and the Immediate Past Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Hong Kong. He holds a degree in Computer Information Systems from Pace University. Born in Malaysia, Kevin has been living and working in Hong Kong for over two decades.

Tammy Tam

Tammy Tam is the South China Morning Post’s Editor-in-Chief and is responsible for the overall editorial direction, strategic development and leading the Post’s newsroom operations for both its print and digital platforms. Tammy is the Chairperson of the Hong Kong News Executives’ Association, and Vice-Chairwoman of the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong. She is also a member of the World Editors Forum, Asia chapter. She was a board member of the Media Communications Training Board, Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, which is dedicated to training talents in the media industry, from 2017 to 2023. Prior to joining the Post, Tammy spent 20 years in the television industry in leadership roles, managing editorial teams and bureaus and corporate development strategies.

Catherine So

Catherine So is the Chief Executive Officer of the South China Morning Post (SCMP), a global news media company that has reported on Hong Kong, China and Asia for more than a century. She is a business leader with over 25 years of experience in the tech, digital and media sectors across Greater China, the Asia-Pacific region and the United States. Prior to joining the SCMP, she was Expedia Group’s Managing Director of Asia-Pacific, leading its business through years of rapid growth and marketplace transformation, while overseeing its consumer business with major brands including Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Stayz and Bookabach. Previously, Ms So was the Managing Director of Groupon Hong Kong and held leadership positions at the iProperty Group (now REA Group), News Corporation and AOL Time Warner. Ms So is currently on the board of the International News Media Association (INMA), a global community of market-leading news media companies. She holds a B.A. with Honours in Economics from Harvard University.
