Jun Zhang

Jun Zhang is Chief Technology Officer at the South China Morning Post and oversees the Product & Technology, B2C Subscription, Data and Digital teams, forming a powerful unit within the newsroom dedicated to understanding and serving our readers’ needs. A veteran technology executive, Jun brings extensive experience from top-tier companies in the US and China, including ENN Group, Alibaba and Pitney Bowes. His deep expertise in Data, AI and User Experience serves as a cornerstone for the organisation as it navigates the media landscape in the age of artificial intelligence. Jun holds a PhD from the University of Michigan and an undergraduate degree in Automation from Tsinghua University.

Eugene Tang

Eugene Tang has been a business journalist since 1994 and has 16 years of experience in China, including 10 years building and managing a bilingual news operation as editor and Bloomberg’s China Bureau Chief. Before joining the Post, Eugene was product director of institutional news and Factiva products at Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal. As Managing Editor, he is responsible for the news coverage of markets, banking and finance, property and industries, as well as the programming of SCMP’s events.

Yonden Lhatoo

Yonden Lhatoo is Managing Editor, Content at the South China Morning Post. He was a TV news anchor and editor for nearly two decades before he joined the Post as a Senior Editor in 2015. He began his journalism career as a newspaper reporter covering Hong Kong’s transition from British colonial rule to Chinese sovereignty, and is now a veteran newshand who specialises in Hong Kong and Greater China affairs. Apart from his editorial duties, which cover news content and quality control at the Post, he regularly moderates forums and seminars on current affairs. He has publicly written, spoken and taught about local, regional and global issues for decades, but is still trying to figure it all out.

Zuraidah Ibrahim

Zuraidah supervises the South China Morning Post’s Hong Kong, Asia and international coverage as well as its photo, graphics and Young Post desks. She also oversees This Week in Asia, an award-winning Sunday current affairs magazine. Zuraidah was previously the Deputy Editor of Singapore’s largest English-language daily, The Straits Times. Among the books Zuraidah has published are Lee Kuan Yew: Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going (Straits Times Press, 2011), a monograph on the Opposition in the Singapore Chronicles series (Institute of Policy Studies, 2017) and a co-edited compendium of reports on Hong Kong’s 2019 protests, Rebel City: Hong Kong’s Year of Water and Fire (SCMP Publishers, 2020). Her latest book project is Post Portraits – Hong Kong’s 25 years of change through the lens of the South China Morning Post (SCMP Publishers, 2023).

Chow Chung-yan

Chow Chung-yan is Editor-in-Chief of the South China Morning Post, overseeing editorial strategy, newsroom operations, product design and subscription growth. Beginning as an intern in 1998, he served as Executive Editor for a decade and has directed the paper’s China coverage since 2007 — establishing it as a leading global source on China. He led the newsroom’s digital transformation and international expansion, setting up offices in the US, Brussels and Nairobi. Under his leadership, the SCMP launched the award-winning premium news product SCMP Plus and the popular interview series Open Questions with global thought leaders. He is also a regular columnist and speaker on Sino-US affairs.

Sylvia Wang

Sylvia Wang is the Chief Financial Officer of the South China Morning Post, overseeing accounting and financial management, Legal and Facilities Management, as well as the People Team, and serving as a director for certain SCMP subsidiaries. With over 25 years of experience in accounting and financial management, Sylvia joined SCMP in 2016 after working as Senior Finance Director at Alibaba Group, the owner of SCMP, and previously as an audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, an international audit firm. Sylvia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Professional Accountancy, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, ACCA and the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute.

Sophia Yu

Sophia Yu is the Managing Director & Publisher of SCMP Hearst, where she oversees brand development, business strategy and editorial direction for five leading luxury and lifestyle media brands in Hong Kong: Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, Esquire and ELLE Men. Under her leadership, the five media brands have successfully transformed from traditional print media into prominent digital players, reaching over four million digital audiences monthly and amassing a social following of more than 3.5 million users. Since joining the South China Morning Post Group in 2011, Sophia has held various senior positions in both news and magazine publishing. She began her career in the advertising industry and later excelled in the media sector, taking on senior regional roles across China and Asia Pacific.

Ang Jin

Ang Jin is the Chief Growth Officer at the South China Morning Post, where she leads the company’s recurring businesses and lays the foundation for sustainable growth. With over 20 years of diverse experience spanning consulting, investment banking and the TMT (technology, media, and telecommunications) sectors, Ang brings deep expertise in strategic planning, fundraising and M&A advisory, financial investment and post-merger integration. Since joining SCMP, Ang has demonstrated strong leadership, progressing through key roles including Head of Strategy, Chief of Staff and Group Senior Vice President before assuming her current position. Throughout her tenure, she has successfully led teams and overseen critical business functions including global partnerships, SCMP Plus, Enterprise+, SCMP Learn, the C-suite community and more. Her accomplishments have been widely recognised, including her inclusion in Campaign Asia’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list in 2022, highlighting her proven track record in driving strategic growth and financial excellence. Ang holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she double-majored in finance and entrepreneurial management and served as co-president of the Asia Club.

Kevin Huang

Kevin Huang is the Chief Operating Officer of the South China Morning Post and is responsible for Advertising & Marketing Solutions, Events and Corporate Communications at the Post. Kevin’s career spans more than 25 years across Asia Pacific, during which he has consistently spearheaded digital, mobile and advertising businesses through high growth and profitability. Prior to joining SCMP, Kevin was the Managing Director of Carousell. Before that, he headed Birdie Mobile, Hong Kong’s first digital-only operator. Kevin was also the Co-founder and CEO of Pixels, and grew the company to become one of the leading home-grown adtech firms in the region. Kevin is a founding member and the Immediate Past Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Hong Kong. He holds a degree in Computer Information Systems from Pace University. Born in Malaysia, Kevin has been living and working in Hong Kong for over two decades.

Tammy Tam

Tammy Tam is the Publisher of the South China Morning Post, overseeing both editorial and business strategy and operations to drive the publication’s development and commercial growth. She previously served as Editor-in-Chief from 2016 to 2025, having joined the SCMP in 2011. Tammy is the Chairperson of the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong and a member of the World Editors Forum, Asia chapter. Prior to joining the SCMP, Tammy spent 20 years in the television industry in leadership roles, managing editorial teams and corporate development strategies.
