SCMP TO ACQUIRE MAJORITY STAKE IN MYDRESS HOLDINGS LIMITED

HONG KONG, 20 October 2015 –

SCMP Group Ltd (SEHK: 583), Asia’s leading media holding company, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in MyDress Holdings Ltd, operator of MyDress.com, Hong Kong’s fashion ecommerce market leader known for its active and loyal customer base. Upon completion of the transaction, the SCMP Group will own the majority of MyDress Holdings through a wholly-owned subsidiary.

The acquisition marks the SCMP Group’s first venture in retail ecommerce. It will introduce a new dimension to the Group’s diversification strategy, creating complementary synergies between the Group’s premium fashion content and market leading audience base, and MyDress’s online shopping offerings and ecommerce expertise. SCMP Group will leverage the experience and infrastructure of MyDress to explore ecommerce opportunities for the Group’s magazine websites, such as ELLE, Cosmopolitan and Harper’s BAZAAR, whose Hong Kong franchise both in print and online are exclusively operated by the SCMP Group.

Co-founders and key executives of MyDress, Mr Edmund Wong and Mr Leon Lai, will continue to spearhead MyDress and manage its day-to-day operations while working closely with the Group’s management on further growth and development.
